FAQ

Are your candles sustainable?

The coconut shells we use are by-products of Vietnam's coconut industry, where oils and milks are commonly farmed.

Once the coconut meat is extracted, the shells are discarded as waste or burned, releasing harmful gases such as methane and CO2 into the atmosphere. These emissions not only pose significant threats to the environment but also to the well-being of both humans and animals.

By repurposing these discarded shells into candles, we actively contribute to the reduction of substantial waste while simultaneously promoting the development of a circular economy.

Our candles are additionally crafted using 100% soy wax, a locally sourced agricultural product and the wooden wicks incorporated in our candles are completely biodegradable, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly product!

Where are your candles sourced?

Our coconut shells are intricately sourced from the 'Land of Coconuts', known as Ben Tre, nestled in the picturesque Mekong Delta of Southern Vietnam.

They are derived as by-products from Vietnam's thriving coconut industry and are carefully selected, repurposed and delicately handcrafted by skilled local artisans residing in the rural villages and farms nearby.

Production and purchasing of these candles supports economic development and provides additional employment opportunities and income to rural Vietnamese communities, who are often dependent on farming as their only source of income.

Do the size of the candles differ?

Our candles are 100% natural coconut shells.

Our local artisans comb through 1000s of shells to pick the best, sturdiest and most durable shells to repurpose, with the aim to meet a rough size of 12cm diameter and 9cm height.

Please allow for 1-2 cm difference in any case.

Although the shell size may vary, the quantity of soy wax in each candle will always be 300g (10oz)!
